Description

Grey Butyl Rubber with Teflon material is an economical solution for low temperature (100°C), low-pressure applications. These septa are restricted to use with many solvents, incompatible with alkanes, benzene, chlorinated solvents, or cyclohexane. Gray butyl has good sealing properties for stationary gases and low molecular weight compounds. Butyl rubber/PTFE are used with ketones and acids whereas silicon-based diaphragms do not work well. Both types of silicone and butyl rubber spacers have a Teflon barrier facing the sample, reducing contact between the sample and silicone and butyl rubber.
